  3. Kia ora Isla,
I really liked how you answered the questions in full sentences.
I noticed that you were in Gisborne in the holidays. That is where I live. We spend lots of time at the beach.

  4. Hello Isla, I am a teacher from Christchurch all the way in the South Island. I love your Explain Everything presentation about Hippos. It was great to see that you have written in full sentences. I learnt a lot of new information. I didn't know that hippos were born under water! I wonder if next time you make a presentation like this you could use your voice to read the text? Keep up the fantastic learning.

  6. Hippos are fasticating, their skin looks like leather. I learnt that hippos sleep during the day - what do they do at night I wonder?

  7. Kia Orana Isla,

Thank you so much for sharing your learning about Hippos. I didn't know those things about Hippos. I like the pictures you used. I have a few questions for you that I thought you might wonder about. Why do you think Hippos sleep in the daytime? Why do you think baby hippos are born underwater? Why do mother hippos leave their babies with other mother hippos? Why do hippos eat when the sun goes down? Let me know how you get on?
